How do I change the details on a ticket?

Contact GNV on +39 (0)10 2094591, ensuring you provide the operator with your ticket number.

For changes to tickets a fixed fee in the amount of Euro 25.00 (twenty five/00) and adjustment for taxes and bunker surcharge shall be payable, or an amount set in advance and published plus any tariff differences where the change is to a tariff greater than the original. Tickets issued at special return rates may be amended only by paying the fixed fee on both tickets. No variations are permitted at check-in. For all passenger tickets issued under particular and/or special conditions, no variations are permitted. Any change to tickets issued gives no entitlement to refund, while payment of the difference is due, where the change involves superior accommodation and/or a greater price.

What is the procedure for cancelling a ticket?

If you purchased your ticket on the GNV website or through the Contact Centre, you must send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or a fax to +39 (0)10 2094225; if you purchased your ticket at a travel agency, please contact them for more details.
Cancellations must be notified within the following time limits with the application of the following penalties: from the time of booking to 20 days before departure - 20%; between 19 and 4 days before departure - 25%; between 3 days and 2 hours before departure - 50%. The above deductions are applied to the total booked passenger and vehicle tariffs plus any additional taxes.
The date and time of cancellation must be noted on the ticket by the company or travel agency that issued the ticket. The calculation of time limits runs from the day following the date of cancellation and includes the departure date. No refunds will be granted to anyone cancelling less than two hours before the scheduled departure, or to those who are not present at the appointed boarding time without having provided the company with prior notification of the occurrence of any of the circumstances provided for by article 400 of the Naval Code.
In the event of the cancellation of a ticket that has already been changed, the costliest penalty calculated based on the date of the ticket changes will be applied. Tickets may not be partially cancelled, therefore any cancellation is deemed to refer to the entirety of the ticket.

As a general rule, we recommend that passengers take out insurance to cover the aforementioned cancellation penalties.
