Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport

The Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport is the European reference center for training in logistics and intermodal transport. Its main objective is to promote intermodality as the foundation for the development of sustainable logistics in Europe. GNV is one of the five founding partners of this center, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2016.

The courses offered by Escola aim to train participants in intermodal logistics, Short Sea Shipping services, and Motorways of the Sea. Maritime intermodality courses are designed for industry professionals and university students in logistics, transport, and international trade. Some of these courses take place on board GNV ferries operating SSS services and last approximately 3 to 4 days, during which participants personally experience an SSS route. During the crossing, they have the opportunity to observe and become familiar with operational aspects, port communities, and ports.

Escola aims to help industry professionals create competitive services and efficient logistics chains. Therefore, it also offers technical courses on: groupage and freight consolidation centers; refrigerated cargo transport; and port operations. Throughout the year, Escola organizes courses exclusively for professionals, where in addition to lessons and a case study, networking represents a key element of the training, providing an opportunity to build future professional relationships among participants.
