Travel to Ibiza with a Vehicle – Summer 2026

From June 1 to September 30, 2026, the Consell Insular d'Eivissa has introduced regulations governing the access and stay of motor vehicles on the island of Ibiza. This is an environmental sustainability measure aimed at improving the quality of life on the island, available on the official website Ibiza Circular.

Daily quota and access fee

The Consell Insular has established a maximum number of vehicles authorized to circulate on the island each day during the restriction period. Once the limit has been reached for a specific date, no additional vehicles may be added for that day.

The access fee is €1 per day and is calculated based on the duration of your stay.

The control system operates through automatic license plate recognition at port access points. There is no need to display any document inside the vehicle.

 

Your ticket type determines the procedure

During the booking process, you will be asked to provide your vehicle’s license plate number: please ensure that the information entered is correct, as it will be used for the official registration.

Availability within the daily access quota will only be verified after payment has been completed on the GNV website.

 

One-way ticket or travel with different ferry operators

If you purchase only a one-way ticket, or if your outbound and return journeys are with different ferry operators, you are required to apply independently for the authorization and pay the fee through the official Ibiza Circular portal before departure.

 

Vehicles not subject to the restriction

The following vehicles are not subject to the restriction and do not need to apply for any authorization:

• Ibiza residents: vehicles (excluding rental fleets) with a tax domicile on the island. Verification is carried out automatically by the Consell Insular based on the vehicle's tax domicile
• Official and public service vehicles: law enforcement, fire brigades, ambulances, healthcare services, funeral services, civil protection, public and school transport, taxis, waste collection and urban cleaning services
• Freight transport and commercial distribution vehicles
• Agricultural and construction machinery: tractors, excavators and similar vehicles
• Motorcycles and mopeds

 

Vehicles exempt from the fee, subject to documentation submission

The following categories are exempt from the fee but must upload the required documentation to ibizacircular.es in order to obtain exemption accreditation:

• Non-residents who own property in Ibiza
• Residents of Mallorca, Menorca or Formentera travelling for work-related reasons
• Persons with reduced mobility
• Vehicles in transit to/from Formentera

 

Residents of Mallorca, Menorca or Formentera travelling for personal (non-work-related) purposes: they are not exempt from the restriction and must independently apply for authorization through ibizacircular.es, but they benefit from a 100% reduction of the fee.

 

Caravans and motorhomes

For caravans, motorhomes and camper vehicles, the restriction period is from June 15 to September 15, 2026.
